The Framhouse S'Alquería Blanca is located on the island of Mallorca, in the municipality of Bunyola. Whatever means you use to get there, the route is always fascinating, from the capital of the community to the Tramuntana mountains, surrounded by rocks and vegetation. Alquería: farmhouse with arable land.The Farmhouse S'Alquería Blanca is precisely that: built in the times of the Arab rule in Mallorca. An alquería which has undergone some modifications. In 1906 the Catalan architect Miguel Martorell i Rius designed and directed an extension to the property with a modernist construction. In it he took particular care over the design of what is now the breakfast room. This building was erected separately from the alquería houses, and it is precisely the latter which are used for the rooms and other guests quarters. Previously they were destined to store agricultural tools, or s stable, military dining rooms, tool sheds and other rooms of the house. The building also had an olive press which was used until the end of the 1960s, and a chapel here the landlord and lady could hold their celebrations. In one of the best corners of the grounds, on the south side, opposite the modernist building, a swimming pool has been built. From it guests can enjoy a magnificent view of the islands pla or plain, which stretches down to the bay of Palma. S'Alquería Blanca is a perfect base for walking trips, either along the tracks which surround it or up he nearby mountains. There is also the possibility of climbing in one of the places which is most appreciated by lovers of this sport. Added to this there are plenty of opportunities of playing golf on one of the courses in the surrounding area, or of riding in the riding club which has opened nearby.
